Adoption
A lifelong commitment 🐾
Adopting means offering a home to a living being who may have experienced abandonment, fear or instability. It’s an act of love, but also a responsibility: time, patience and kindness… and lots of small steps that become big victories.
Our aim: long-lasting adoptions, so that every meeting becomes the most wonderful adventure — for you and for the animal.
The adoption steps
1) I think it through
Before you come in, ask yourself the right questions:
-
Do I have the time and energy on a daily basis?
-
Is everyone in the household ready (including children)?
-
Are my home and lifestyle compatible?
-
Am I ready to support an animal with a past?
-
Do I have a plan for when I’m away (weekends, holidays)?
💡 The clearer you are, the more successful the match will be.
2) I choose an animal and meet them
During your visit, our team will talk you through:
-
their temperament, needs and routines
-
their level of training / socialisation
-
what you’ll need to put in place at home
For a dog: the first meeting usually takes place during a supervised walk, followed by discussion and observation.
For a cat: a meeting in a dedicated, quiet space, allowing the animal to approach at their own pace.
👉 Depending on the animal’s profile, one or more visits may be needed. That’s normal: we’re looking for the right “match”.
3) Everything OK? We make it official
If your situation matches the animal’s needs, we move on to signing the adoption contract.
This contract formalises a mutual commitment:
-
you commit to caring for your companion in the long term
-
we ensure the animal leaves with the essential care they need (depending on age and circumstances)
📌 Please bring a valid ID and the information required to draw up the contract.
4) Settling in: an adjustment period
The first days can be intense. The animal is discovering a new environment, new sounds, new rules.
Our key advice:
-
give them a space of their own (a quiet corner)
-
establish a simple routine (meals, walks, rest)
-
avoid too many visitors and overstimulation at the start
-
be patient: some settle quickly, others need more time
5) Adoption for life (and you’re not on your own)
We remain available after adoption to help you: advice, follow-up, recommendations if needed.
Our priority: the animal’s wellbeing and a balanced home life.
The adoption contract
